Auditable infrastructure for AI and information systems.

Sannvev Institute is a neutral convening body chartering open standards and reference implementations for trust, provenance, and verifiability in AI and information systems.

A Canadian federal not-for-profit operating on a foundation-and-projects model.

  • What we do

    Open standards and reference implementations.

The Institute charters projects that produce specifications, open-source code, and validation tooling for AI systems whose outputs need to be trustworthy, auditable, or independently verifiable.

  • How we work

    Neutral, member-supported, open by default.

Governance follows the foundation-and-projects model established by organizations like the Apache Software Foundation and Eclipse Foundation. Most work is open source. Corporate members and project sponsors fund the staff and infrastructure that keep the work moving.

  • Why it matters

    Accountability where it counts.

AI and information systems are being adopted faster than the infrastructure to hold them accountable. The Institute builds that infrastructure — in defence and national security, regulated industries, and democratic institutions — and publishes it as a public good.

Status. The Institute was incorporated in April 2026 and is in its foundational phase. This site will expand as projects, partnerships, and governance documents are published. For inquiries in the interim, see Contact.
