Engagement
Working with the Institute.
The Institute's work is supported by corporate members, project sponsors, government contribution agreements, and partnerships with universities and allied research organizations.
Corporate membership
Corporate members support the Institute's ongoing operations and gain structured participation in its governance and technical work. Membership tiers will be published alongside the Institute's first member prospectus. Organizations interested in founding-member conversations are invited to reach out via Contact.
Project sponsorship
Companies, government programs, and foundations can sponsor specific chartered projects. Sponsored projects operate under the Institute's foundation-wide IP framework, with per-project terms negotiated to reflect sponsor needs and public-benefit commitments.
Government contribution agreements
The Institute is structured to receive Canadian federal and provincial contribution agreements — defence and security research funding, regional development programs, and applied R&D instruments.
Under the Canada–EU agreement on the SAFE Instrument, the Institute is also eligible to participate in European Union defence procurement on terms equivalent to European entities. This dual-jurisdiction reach lets sponsors and partners align the Institute's work with both Canadian and European funding pathways.
Implementer and integrator partners
Organizations that implement Sannvev standards in their own products or services can participate in an Implementers Circle — a technical partnership structure for companies shipping software that adheres to Institute-published specifications.
Academic and research partnerships
The Institute partners with Canadian and international universities on joint research, student engagement, and co-authored specifications. Institutional MoUs are welcomed from research-intensive institutions with aligned interests.
Individual contribution
Individual researchers, engineers, and domain experts can contribute to chartered projects under their published contribution guidelines. Working-group participation is structured per project.
